Delightful Victoorian house built in local stone well over a century ago, full of character and lovingly refurbished, located in the scenic village of Lynmouth. Idyllic riverside setting with award-winning garden at the beginning of the beautiful valley walk to Watersmeet, the deepest natural gorge in England. All bedrooms are tastefully decorated with co-ordinated furnishings, most with pretty en-suites, and all with clock/radios, hairdryers and tea/coffee facilities. We have a drying area for wet clothing, boots and can store bicycles overnight. We are renowned for our high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, which are reflected in our AA Four Diamond grading. Lynmouth is nestled in a wooded valley where the East and West Lyn Rivers meet the sea on the edge of Exmoor and has picturesque harbour, pretty village and unique water-powered cliff railway. Peaceful, tranquil, romantic - a very special place. Lynmouth is steeped in history from the smugglers in bygone days to the poets - Coleridge, Wordsworth and Shelley who honeymooned here with his young bride in 1812 - who were inspired by the beauty and serenity of the area. There is an abundance of riverside, woodland and magnificent coastal walks with dramatic scenery and breathtaking views of the rugged cliff tops and secluded bays to the peaceful heather-clad moorland with Exmoor ponies, deer and a variety of birds and wildlife making this unique area a paradies for ramblers and country lovers.
